Syed Mohammad Reza Seyed Hosseini stated: As a result of heavy rains and unprecedented cold this January in Sistan and Baluchistan, various agricultural sectors of the province in more than 10 cities, mainly in the central and northern regions, suffered damage in various sectors such as agriculture and horticulture. , water and soil, livestock and poultry.
He continued: agricultural fields, horticulture sector, mainly greenhouses, light and heavy livestock farms, meat farms, agricultural water wells, access roads to farms and all sub-sets of agricultural sectors of Sistan and Baluchistan were damaged simultaneously with the occurrence of these 2 natural phenomena. The most damage was done to the agricultural sector.
The head of the Sistan and Baluchistan Agricultural Jihad Organization said: The assessment teams are present in the affected areas of the province and are conducting a detailed assessment of the damage, so it is expected that the detailed estimate of all the damages will be announced by the end of the week.
He stated that this amount of cold weather in Sistan and Baluchistan was unexpected and said: All the efforts of our colleagues are to help the hardworking and suffering farmers and to compensate their losses as soon as possible.
According to Mohsen Heydari, Director General of Meteorology of Sistan and Baluchistan, he said: On Friday morning, the air temperature in 11 cities of this province dropped below zero.
Unprecedented cold weather in recent days in Sistan and Baluchistan, in addition to causing damage to the agricultural and infrastructure sectors such as the electricity network, caused the closure of schools and offices in some cities of this province.
